More firsts at sea, plus all of the familiar favorites - that's what's in store for passengers when Royal Caribbean International's brand-new Quantum of the Seas makes her much-anticipated debut in 2014. Specifically designed with longer itineraries in mind, Quantum's fifteen bright and expansive decks will come packed with all of the perennially popular features and amenities that have become the hallmarks of a Royal Caribbean sailing (including FlowRider®, the Vitality SpaSM, the DreamWorks® Experience, an adults-only Solarium, and Royal's award-winning Adventure Ocean program) as well as a host of exciting innovations that are already creating tremendous buzz among cruisers and industry insiders alike.
Quantum's unprecedented design and entertainment advancements will literally scale new heights: her exclusive North StarSM (a jewel-like capsule constructed from glass and steel) will transport guests on a journey more than 300 feet in the air to deliver spectacular 360° views, while RipCordSM by iFly® - cruising's only skydiving simulator - will allow passengers to experience the thrill and exhilaration of flying within a safe and controlled environment. Bumper cars and roller skating will make their shipboard debuts courtesy of Quantum's SeaPlexSM, soon to be the largest "active" indoor space afloat, and the ship's revolutionary Two70°SM venue, an impressive two-and-a-half decks tall, will seamlessly fuse cutting-edge technology and entertainment to provide guests with a selection of offerings that morph from day to night (270° panoramic views, an ice bar, performance art, light shows, digitally-generated scenery, etc.).
Quantum of the Seas is a huge leap forward when it comes to cabins, too; her Family ConnectedSM staterooms, "Virtual Balcony" interior staterooms, and larger Loft Suites will inaugurate Royal Caribbean's next generation of accommodations.
Quantum of the Seas is scheduled to debut on November 23rd, 2014. Her inaugural series of sailings, departing from her homeport of Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, will cruise anywhere from seven to twelve nights and visit ports of call in the Bahamas, the Eastern Caribbean, and the Southern Caribbean.
