Have had better on Carnival by
Jean B from Murfreesboro, TN
Sailing date: Oct 2009 Pros:
Room steward was great
Cons:
Some services and Food was lacking
I do not want to paint everyone with the same brush, but have sailed many times on Carnival and this was without a doubt the most disappointing. I took 3 friends as my guest and will say I was embarrassed with some of the service we received. The Red Sail restaurant had very bad service. No one seemed to want to assist you with anything. The food was not that good either. I don't know what was going on, but everyone seemed to be in a rush to get you out of there and on to the next person. I bought a very expensive ring in your shop on board and the person that helped me was another one that could not be bothered. He made the sale, "now get out". I received a bunch of tickets for a drawing later on the cruise. He said 3pm, when we went at 3, he rudely told me "NO, I SAID 10pm"..When we went back a 9:45 you could not even see the shop there were so many people there. Very much a safety hazard. I was in a wheel chair and could not see, nor hear, any numbers being called. I could have won the "HOPE DIAMOND" and not heard. They just wanted to get as many people as possible in to buy these watches that were on sale. The staff was not helpful nor giving service with any smiles whatsoever. The food in the dining room, altho plentiful, was not up to your usual standard. Our server was wonderful I must say. Made the dinner hour very special even if the food did not meet expectations. On the whole I was very embarrassed and I know from experience, you can do better. I think staff was the big problem here. Thank you, Jean V Boyd

Ship Quality The ship is beginning to show some age. Needs a little update.
Dining/Food Good variety of menu.

We love Cruisin'! by
susan r from tampa florida
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
Shows, food, staff and ports of call!
Cons:
Smell of smoke in library
This is our fifth cruise since December and three of the ships were Carnival. We love Carnival the best (NCL second) because the cabins are always more spacious than other ships, the shows are always super and the food incredible, not to mention the staff were just terrific! They really stand out from other cruise lines.
The Glory is a nice ship but older and needs a little TLC but it didn't bother us to that degree. We loved the Star (Alaska Cruise) and also the Inspiration is nice.
Down side of Glory is the library was incredibly small with minimum books. It also smelt of smoke and it's a none smoking area.
The Glory however has the edge on the gym (not that I used it LOL) and was the largest gym I have ever seen on a cruise ship!
All in all it was a wonderful cruise with no regrets. Our cabin stewart (Roy on the Lido deck 9) was incredible! He's the best we have ever had and if it was left to us we would promote him to captain of the ship! His service was excellent and I have never had so many folded animal towels on one ship! He provided 5 on a 7 night cruise when the standard is 2.
Nice thing about Carnival is they provide luxury bathrobes. You've never experienced a bathrobe until you have put one of these on!
Our waiter (Christopher - Golden Diningroom table 187) just knocked himself out! He was very catering to everyones needs and didn't miss a beat! I am vegetarian and a lady at the table had to have a gulten free diet so he had his hands full with us both however no one would know. Service always with a smile and his helper was equally as great!
Thank you Carnival for such a lovely cruise! We liked Grand Turk the best even though we went there in error to avoid the tropical storm. Captain was smart thinking to get us out of St. Maarten before it hit and redirected the ship to a different port of call that wasn't on the adgenda. Thanks to this what would have been a bad day at sea and in port turned out to be incredible!
Hats off to Carnival, we love you!

Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
Ports, Ship, Cabin, Cabin Steward
Cons:
Not 1 peaceful night , Security not able to control noisy guest 3 am every night
Had we been able to sleep at night we could have rated the ship much higher. Multiple call were made to the customer relations desk the security would come quite things down then leave , next night same thing night after night. We did not have 1 peaceful night on the cruise.

What an experience by
A Traveler from Knoxville, TN 37918
Sailing date: Jul 2009 Pros:
the shows at night are awesome.
Cons:
I was bored during the day. There wasn't a lot to do really besides swimming or hanging out in the sun.
It was a beautiful ship. There were lots of places to go and big rooms. If you were into music this was your ship. There were lots of muscians to listen to in the clubs. It was hard to get around in the ship. One deck didn't lead to another. You could get lost etc. the elevators were really quick and the stairs were easy to find.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food There were actually times when all you could get was pizza. I am on weight watchers. Not good. I didn't like the pizza. The main dining hall was wonderful but a little slow. Still everyone was nice and helped me find what I was looking for. I just wish there was more variety at odd times. If you missed the dinner time you were out of luck. Overall great food though. I cant complain. Nothing tasted bad. The service was great.
Stateroom Quality Small rooms but who should be in their room anyway. lol good amenities. I wish we had an iron in the room but there was one down the hall. Beds were great and so were the pillows. Long halls to walk down to get to your rooms. You had to know which elevator to get on to get there quick.
Ship Staff Quality Amazing staff.
Entertainment & Activities the shows were great and the dancers and singers were entertaining. I loved that. during the day they had stuff like putt putt, volleyball, trivia. I am not into any of those things. the schedule was full but not of things I like. Like they had a scrapbooking class but it was to sell things. Why not tell us before hand and we could bring our stuff and scrapbook there. Or for people who workout like me there is nothing scheduld to do. Why not have all runners meet in the morning to run? or not make us pay for spinning class. I didn't like that. the staff who led the activities were great. They really like their jobs and you could tell.

An amazing adventure! by
Diane A from Ocean Isle Beach NC
Sailing date: Jun 2009 Pros:
The wide variety of entertainment for all.
Cons:
The limited variety of complementary beverages after breakfast
I just returned from the Western Caribean Cruise on board the Glory. It was a family reunion with ages from 12 to 77. There were activities for all. The staterooms were nice and large. Overall excellent cruise. The staff was amazing. Waiting for the next cruise.
Ship Quality I felt even though there were three pools, one of them should have been bigger for the size of the ship.
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality The stateroom was always freshened up. The staff was always nearby for questions or problems.
Ship Staff Quality The staff was very friendly and accommodating
Entertainment & Activities There was entertainment all the time and a wide variety.

Overall Good Cruise by
Laura W. from Austin, TX
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
Balcony Stateroom--roomy, clean and great location on ship; Elmer, our server in Golden Dining Room
Cons:
Crowds everywhere, constant photo shooting, food quality has dropped
The Carnival Glory is clean, newer, and has roomy staterooms. The Red Sail Restaurant was a zoo (crowds and lines always). It was not laid out well at all. Did not have a lot of room to be in the pool. Lots of kids everywhere. The embarkation and debarkation went smoothly. We brought our own luggage off, since we had an early flight, and I would recommend to do that if possible. The service and entertainment in the Golden Dining Room was excellent, from our headwaiter, his assistant and the wine steward. Service at the open seating lunch in Platinum Dining Room was slow and we didn't go back. The ship is laid out with the Golden Dining Room in the middle, and you can only get to it from going certain ways on certain floors, which got to be inconvenient. The lounges were spotless and service good in them. You could tell which ones would be freezing and which ones were more comfortable. The entertainment was average in the Amber Palace. The comedian was great, however.

George Town, Grand Cayman Grand Cayman needs tendering to get to port and there were 5 ships in port the day we were there. It took us four hours to get off our ship which was a ridiculous waste of time.
Don't Miss: Stingrays--book your own tour through Trip Advisor versus Carnival to get in smaller group
Grand Turk Island Waste of time unless you want to spend all day in Margaritaville.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica Love Jamaica. Dunn's River Falls is a must-see, but the whole island is lush and beautiful if you get to take an island tour. Watch out for the drug sellers though.
