OK Cruise! by

Sailing date: Aug 2010 Pros:
Food selection
Cons:
Pools
It's a good cruise for family with kids 14 & under. There's a lot of activity for kids but the only problem is it's over crowded. The foods are wonderful and it's included. The only problem I had was, customer service are not very friendly they never answer the phone and the wait line is always long.

A Very, Very Mixed Experience by
Jerry J. from Miami, FL
Sailing date: Jul 2010 Pros:
Overall Clean
Cons:
Food
This cruise and I have taken many was average in most areas and completely unacceptable in others as detailed below. The ship is not especially new or large. The staff ranged from very good to dreadful. The food was the low point, from below average to toxic at times. The trip was partially ruined by major inconsiderate behavior. The entertainment had one highlight but overall lacking.
Ship Quality Overall, the ship was clean in spite of passengers feeling they can leave their debris everywhere. The room was clean and the staff worked hard to keep it that way, the only downside was a strong stench of urine in the bathroom toilet.
Dining/Food Okay so here I go the food on this cruise, with the exception of burgers and pizza (how many times can you eat that) was dismal. Think at best Golden Corral with much less selection think at worst toxic. One particular lunch I was dining on highly overcooked fish and nearly raw potatoes when my wife said my stomach hurts, it cant be what Im eating could it? Well I tried her simple pasta dish and it had a toxic indescribable metallic acid taste. When this was pointed out to the waiter and we asked instead for the old hamburger instead he stated were closed now (2:03 pm were they swimming off the ship?). So, no lunch for me or my wife unless we hit the hamburger and pizza line by the pool again. Completely unacceptable.
Stateroom Quality Now you have to read this. On the first night at 2:45 am there was a HUGE crash of something directly above our heads. Okay, I know stuff happens. But then, at 3:15 am started a huge and loud symphony of sledge hammers, small hammers, grinders and as an encore pneumatic chisels throughout the rest of the night. LOUD (on iphone app 80-87 decibels IN OUR ROOM). In spite of calling everyone, no one would even acknowledge what was going on (must be a drunk person) and no one would stop. ALL NIGHT. Turns out, this repair could have easily waited until daytime (non-passenger door in service area). We had 2 cabins, and no one could take the shore excursion the next day due to no sleep. We changed rooms the next day and got a refund of get this - $23.02 per passenger. What an insult. After the room change, in the new room the shower drain kept overflowing into the bathroom. Gave average rating only because okay after room change.
Ship Staff Quality The staff quality varied from very good (dining staff Spirit dining room) to unacceptable (see toxic food review). Another example of lack of caring: one breakfast we asked for warmed milk to put in the oatmeal we cannot do that huh? You cannot heat milk? Ordered fruit plate received a lone banana. We do not complain, but pretty ridiculous. Room steward staff very good.
Entertainment & Activities The entertainment is lacking on this ship except for the fixed venues such as the bars and discos. There was one glowing exception, the adult comedian (Happy Cole) was fantastic see him if you get the chance. I mean, how many times can you do the bean bag toss contest? Karaoke every night. Is an art auction an activity? Highly overpriced Bingo an activity? There was a day at sea when there were no activities at all for a 4-5 hour span. How about taking one of those 12+ photogs and having him do a table tennis contest anything. Occasional scattered trivia contest.
Children's Programs We travelled with teens and they enjoyed the disco (too much every night was 4:00 am). Cannot comment on younger activities although did notice they had an area for young kids and a game room. Again, if you exclude the fixed venues, I did not see any activities for young children or teens.
Collapse List of Ports
Cozumel, Mexico We got off and rented scooters - very nice look at the island, no complaints beaches nice and snorkling as well. In my opinion however nearby Cancun is nicer (different trip). In spite of being careful, the "locals" cloned my credit card resulting (thank you Bank of America) in a fraud alert due to multiple unauthorized charges (Aeromexico.Com, etc.) and card cancellation. Use cash my brother.
Don't Miss: Getting your credit card number stolen.

Sharon H from Piedmont, SC
Sailing date: Jun 2010 Pros:
Service on the boat
Cons:
My cruise was too short
The ship was very nice. The staff worked very hard to make sure our family had a great time. They cleaned our room several times a day. The ship was always clean. Overall it was a great first experience. I will def use this ship again.
Ship Quality The layout of the ship was very nice. The pool areas was located in just the right spots. Everything was always clean and looked very nice at all times.
Dining/Food The food was GREAT!!! No other way to say that. I loved that there was a anytime dinning choice.
Stateroom Quality The rooms were great, the staff kept it VERY clean.
Ship Staff Quality I did not have one bad experience out of the staff. They were VERY welcoming. It was a pleasure to be on the ship with them.
Entertainment & Activities There was a lot of things to choose from. From shows, to the casino and a lot of family friendly things to choose from as well.
Children's Programs The camp carnival was GREAT! My kids did not want to come home! There a lot of things to do for all ages.

MIXED EMOTIONS by
Jerry F from Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Sailing date: Jun 2010 Pros:
FOOD, SUNSHINE,SERVICE AND STAFF.
Cons:
THE ONLY POOL IS FAR TO SMALL AND IMPOSSIBLE TO ENJOY.
If you take your kids on this cruise (Imagination) I presume you don't want any quiet and enjoy constantly loud, daytime children's activities ... because that's what you'll get.
The one pool is much to small to accomodiate the number of passengers aboard and is shared by small children, young adults and adults, all at the same time. This mix makes the water in the pool a "somewhat rust" color by early afternoon. You guess what the rust color is from. Not a pretty pricture!
I would think the ship would have an adult only pool. Sorry ... doesn't exist. Only the one pool. Of course there are numerous hot-tubs scattered about the ship. However, they are not regulated to specifically adult, or children. So once again, the mix of young kids and adults results in an other than relaxing environment. Picture ... young children jumping into and out of the hot tub.
There is an adult sunbathing area in the aft of the boat but unfortunately no pool, bar, or aminities ... excepting a hot tub.
The primary activity area surrounds the one pool. This is also the one area at which all the daytime activities are held (excepting the casino). It's this area which is annoying loud. If the "entertainment" staff reduced the db level by about 100 ... it could be comfortable.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food We were assigned to the Pride Restaurant and the food and presentation was true gormet dining. Once again, the Wait-Staff was superb.
Stateroom Quality We had an ocean-view cabin which was far smaller than anticipated. In fact, two people could not pass each other without one person stepping aside.
However, the room-staff was beyond compare in every good way. The room-staff made certain our cabin was immaculate at all times. The bed was "turned down" each night and no sooner had we showered, than the towels were replaced with fresh.
Ship Staff Quality All the staff we came into contact with was fantastic ... friendly, professional and showing an honest sense of wanting to please. They ALL rate an A++++++
Entertainment & Activities Adults traveling without kids who want Vegas night-time entertainment and a relaxing environment ... wrong cruise.
However, the music at the pool (when the children's games were not being played) was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, this seemed to infrequent.

A Smelly Weekend by
A Traveler from Ohio
Sailing date: May 2010 Pros:
The port and the sun.
Cons:
The ship, the service, and mostly the stench!
The ship is OK, but a bit older and tacky. I don't know what the problem was, but we often smelled sewage. It wasn't constant, but definitely annoying! The food was OK but service in the dining room less than average. Our room steward was always on top of things though. The entertainment definitely could've been better.

Nassau, Bahamas We checked out Atlantis and hung at Senor Frogs. I heard from some other cruisers that there was a public entrance to the Atlantis beach that was cheaper than paying the excursion price......didn't check it out though.
