Fun weekend by
Crystal S from Baton Rouge, LA.
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
dining with a great group of people
Cons:
repetitive entertainment
We really enjoy the activities onboard and participating in the excursions while at port. The ATX ride through the jungle was fun but muddy. Don't wear your favorite clothes.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Several of the soups were wonderful. The rara prime rib was perfectly cooked to my liking.
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality our cabin steward was great and even loaned me a hairdryer for my trip
Entertainment & Activities Having been on the cruise before, I'd hoped the shows would be different

fun cruise by
A Traveler from louisisana
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
the service
Cons:
not enough entertainment for adults
Carnival Fantasy is ok ...............My first cruise was on the Norwegien Spirit 7 days to Belize, Costa Maya, Cozemel and the price was the same as the 5 day to just Progresso and cozemel....So, in comparison it is like eating Steak(Norwegien) then eating chicken (Fantasy) but, We made the best of it and had a great time...I wish the adult area was larger and more things for adults......to many children for me....the worst thing was all the cigerete smoking , there were more places to smoke than not to smoke....I personally will not be going back on the Fantasy.....at this time it is on the bottom of my list of least favorite....
Ship Quality Decor was very dated needs to be updated
Dining/Food Food was ok, we fell in love with the waiter (pande) he is great and one of our favorites ask for him and a window and you will not regret it ....and give him a big tip personally he deserves it....have fun and get the best service.ask for the anytime eating not the reserved eating .....ask for Pande, dont forget hes the best....one Fantasy has to offer...
Stateroom Quality The stateroom is small but we only slept there so it was fine
The room was to cold for me but nice and clean they have been updated....
Ship Staff Quality The staff was very friendly they make the ship actually the foriegners
Entertainment & Activities entertainment could be better, or have more variety of entertainment, the audience participation was nice at times. The party the day of departure and the night before coming home was a joke...it did not last long.......to short more adult entertainment....wholesome adult entertainment
Children's Programs it appeared they cator to children on this ship which is fine....but, when i am on vacation i want peace and quiet...had to go to the adult section for that, but it appeared everyone else had the same thing in mind and the area was always full ....the water slide was nice for children and adults, that was nice, it closed to early...the pool was only one and to small to accomdodate over 2,000 people....not......

7 Day Cruise:Key West & Nassau, Bahamas! by
A Traveler from Lafayette, La
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
we enjoyed our destinations as well as the excursions we did (snorkle, & swim with dolphins, & Atlantis water park) and the service was wonderful
Cons:
I didn't like how once all of our excursions were over we had almost 3 days on the ship until we arrived back home, it was a tad toolong on a ship
Overall the Carnival Fantasy was great. The service was excellent, and our destinations to Key West, FL & Nassau, Bahamas was awesome. We had a really good time and enjoyed going on the Carnival Fantasy.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food We had an amazing waitor for the week of our cruise.
Stateroom Quality The rooms were fine as far as cleanliness goes but they are just so tiny for two people for 7 days.
Ship Staff Quality The staff was awesome. Everywhere you turn you can see someone who works for Carnival if you have any questions.
Entertainment & Activities I did not think there was enough to do on the ship. There were fun activities and a good variety but there should have been more for a 7 day cruise.

The food was good and the shopping on land was fun, loved the beach.
Cons:
The very slow elevators that caused congestion.
It seemed that many people had issues with finding their way around the ship. We enjoyed the food, the shopping, and the activities. Next trip we want to cruise 7 days instead of four.Informational meetings were good.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Lots of choices.

Sailing date: Feb 2009 Pros:
Ever employee on that ship treated us like we wer the most important guests aboard.
Cons:
The Swingers but thats another story. LOL
I had been very ill for a very long time. My youngest daughter and i had never really had a vacation. She my daughter, was about to be 17 and I wanted to give her a memory of me and our life outside of sick rooms and doctors offices. Life with fun and laughter. We got it. The room was clean, the beds comfortabl, the service excilent. If we ever travel again, And we will, it would be my honor to be welcomed back aboard the Fun Ship.

Great Cruise by
Jessica M. from New Orleans, LA
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
The shows, the people
Cons:
the food
Great, loved it all, ready to go BACK AGAIN
Ship Quality The ship was just remodeled. Even though it was built in 1989 It seems to be brand new. They just put up new water slides also. Very VERY clean, smaller ship but more intimate, the cruise director new our name by the end of cruise
Dining/Food We did not care for the dining room food. It was like preheated and just didnt taste verygood, but im sure this is how it is on all cruises. We stuck to the buffet the whole time, and that food was great!! They fix it right there in front of you, and they had something different every day/night
Stateroom Quality The room was GREAT!! CLEAN, everything is new, b/c of the remodel, the rooms were clean TWICE a day and there was always a new towel animal out!!
Ship Staff Quality The most friendly people I have ever met in my life. Always willing to help, always smiling
Entertainment & Activities There was always something for us to do. We were never bored!! The entertainment staff was great!! Very funny, we didnt stop laughing when they put on shows. We loved the comedy shows. AND DO NOT MISS they shows, like broadway/vegas style they were great!! I couldnt believe I was on a ship watching this!!
Collapse List of Ports
Cozumel, Mexico Beautiful, friendly people, lots of things to do!! There are many shops, but prices are better in progresso. Spend your time here doing activities & siteseeing. Our activity here was canceled due to the weather, but we took a taxi to the other side of the island and had a great time anyway! We went to a small beach that was very private. Just a warning the taxi drivers drive VERY fast. Ours was going 120
Progreso (Merida), Mexico I wish we could have spent 2 days in cozumel, progresso was very small and boring. The only thing was they had a small shopping strip with great prices much cheaper than cozumel. If you want to shop I would suggest shopping at this port and doing an activity in cozumel
Don't Miss: shopping

Just awful by
Richard S from Sacramento, CA
Sailing date: Oct 2008 Pros:
Crew
Cons:
Food
The only good thing to say about this cruise ship was the crew was great and the beds comfortable. I went out on a 5 day cruise on Oct 4-9, 2008 and there was a septic tank smell in the hallway all 5 days. I never got an explaination of why. The cruse started off poorly when the embarkation computers stopped working adding an hour to our wait to get on the ship. Then the ship was delayed 8 hours from leaving port, once again no good explaination for this. We were supposed to leave at 4PM and left at midnight. The food in the dining room was average to poor and I left many entrees uneaten. The food outside of the dining room was tedious and of average quality. Cold beer was hit and miss with most beer (bottles) warm. People were buying 3-4 at a time with a bucket of ice so they could have a cold beer. The room was adequate and the bed was comfortable, no small matter since the last Carnival cruise I was no had alumimum cots for beds and I had a back ache for a week. The room was cold and only comfortable when the sun shined in the windows. The fee for using the electronic poker table (rake) was exorbitent at 12% and even raked when no flop was seen! The variety of food outlets was smaller than the last Carnival cruise ship I was on and this added to the lack of varity. Common area bathrooms were small to ridiculous. The ship rolled from side to side even in calm seas and sometimes the water would cascade from the pool on to the deck. This is an older ship with recent renovations, but I don't belive it has stabilizing fins like the newer ships so this is what you get. The rolling was not crazy, but anoying and fairly constant. Oh, there was a fire on deck three while in Cozomel, Mexico delaying those wanting to reboard the ship and making those in the cabins wait up on deck until under control. Once again no explaination for this, for all I know the ships engines were on fire, a rumor going around at the time.

The best time of my life by
Deanna M. from Pittsburgh, PA
Sailing date: Aug 2008 Pros:
I LOVED THE 24-HOUR ICE CREAM!!!my friend and i had 12 in one day. I also liked the view, the shows, the food, the friendly workers, and the beds.
Cons:
I didn't like how the pool was 4'9...it was fine for me, but my little brother wasn' tall enough so it was hard for him to swim.
The workers were friendly and they cared. By the second day, they reconized us, and treated us like we were royalty. The food was good, and the beds where so comfortable!! The shows were great. The waterslide was FUN!! this was my first cuise and it wont be my last.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The food was soooo good!! I LOVED THE ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT ice cream!!!! The ribs were good too, and I loved that if you didn't like your dish you could return it and get whatever you wanted.
Stateroom Quality It wasn't as small as they make it seem. I LOVED THE ANIMALS!! Very comfortable and clean.
Ship Staff Quality The workers where so nice...they made me feel like royalty.
